Volunteer Christmas Party

Last Thursday was the Wolverhampton Archives and Local Studies Volunteer Christmas Party. This event was designed as a way to thank the volunteers for all their hard work at the Archives over the last year. Held in the meeting room at the Archives, the volunteers had a chance to meet and get to know each other while enjoying some festive food. Some mini crackers provided entertainment, bad jokes and Christmas hats, which added to the festive spirit of the party.

The volunteers seemed to enjoy themselves and appreciated the chance to have a more social gathering with the opportunity to meet others working on different projects.

I would like to thank all the volunteers who give their time to projects at the Archives. Their hard work and dedication helps to improve the resources available at the Archives. The research undertaken by volunteers for the Smith, Son and Wilkie project is much more in depth and comprehensive than I could ever have achieved without their help.

This will be my last blog until the New Year so Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! I am looking forward to 2012, although I have a lot still to do on this project, I am sure it will be another successful year at the Archives.
