Craddock Brothers Queen Square Shop Plans

We have recently been sorting through some planning applications and we came across plans for alterations to the Queen Square branch of Craddock Brothers.

Plan of Craddock Brothers Queen Square Shop

The shop was located at 22 & 23 Queen Square, just to the left of Queens Arcade as can be seen in the location plan below.

The plans show a new shop front. The Craddock Brothers shop previously had the large signage that can be seen here, with an image of the premises today.

At the time of the plans, 1955, alterations were being made to the interior of the shop. Changes were being made to the Ladies and Children’s departments on the First Floor as seen below.

The Ground Floor, containing the Men’s department was largely unchanged.

This plan is under reference 547/55 and is part of a larger collection of plans held at Wolverhampton City Archives.
