Conservation

The Smith, Son and Wilkie collection requires a fairly large amount of conservation work in places. Many items need cleaning and some need much more work to preserve them for future use and prevent them from degrading any further.

Conservation work on this collection is currently in progress with many items being cleaned and repaired ready for use by the public upon completion of the catalogue.

Keep an eye on the blog entries over the next few months for information on the needs of the collection and the work of the conservator.

Thanks to a grant from the National Manuscripts Conservation Trust we have been able to purchase more conservation supplies to continue packaging and repairing the items in the Smith, Son & Wilkie collection.

Sorry it has taken so long to find you. Look forward to seeing what you do. Have you checked out sharehistory yet? It would be good to meet up.
